Eddie Ankar, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024. A lifelong and faithful follower of Christ, Eddie was a beloved figure in his community, known for his dedication as an owner and operator of Ankar’s Hoagies. He was also a passionate supporter of Alabama football—ROLL TIDE!
Eddie devoted his life to serving God and cherishing his family. His greatest joy came from filling his home with love and laughter alongside his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Giselle; his parents, Farid and Yasmeen; his brothers, George and Joseph; and his sister, Nawal.
Eddie is survived by his four daughters: Christy (Daniel), Jennifer, Nickey, and Gina; his sister, Nadia; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 13, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Catholic Church on Monday, October 14, at 11:00 AM, with Father Mike Nolan presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
