He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Cooper Dickert and his father, James “Jack” Dickert.
Mr. Dickert was a member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church where he was a deacon, Director of Sunday School Services and taught the Cornerstone Sunday School Class. He was the owner of Dickert and Associates, President of the Chattanooga Lacrosse Officials Association and past Secretary of the Southeast Football Officials Association.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessica (Jeremy) Shaw; four grandchildren, Luke, Maddie, Caiden and Brenna; mother, Bettye Dickert; brothers, Jim (Cheryl) Dickert of Atlanta and Stan (Ann) Dickert; sister, Melinda (James) Williams all of Chattanooga; mother-in-law, Jill Cooper; brother-in-law, Jay Cooper; sister-in-law, Angie (Keith) Mariakis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday at Spring Creek Road Baptist Church with the Rev. James Julian and the Rev. David Clay officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with Dr. Larry Stone, Ray Parks, Bobby Hudgins, Tim Smith, Joe Pratt, Bill Powell, Roy Shelby, Jeremy Wood and Ryan Mooney serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cornerstone Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road and from 12-1 PM Wednesday at the church.
