Born in Limestone, Alabama, Betty grew up in Westel, Tennessee and called Chattanooga home for more than three decades. Betty was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and seldom missed watching a game. She especially enjoyed the opportunity to see and meet the players live. She greatly enjoyed traveling, particularly to beaches and mountains, reading, cooking, baking, often thoughtfully worrying about everyone and everything before herself, sharing stories and jokes, along with her personal convictions. Most of all, Betty was happiest when gardening and tending to her plants and flowers.
