She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University as a teacher. As a lifelong homemaker, she pursued her love of teaching through tutoring ESL and in the school at Brainerd Baptist Church where she was a member for 74 years. She lived all her 102 years with integrity and purpose, sharing her gifts with all who crossed her path, never hesitating to share the love and truth of God. Her legacy continues in the hearts of friends and family whom she cared for in many ways.
Surviving Beatrice are her children, Dr. Coleman (Jeanie) Arnold of Chattanooga and Jane Arnold Barnhill of Columbia, SC.; grandchildren, Alison Bryan, Nathan (Padgett) Arnold, Justin (Kelly) Arnold, Kevin (Carolyn) Arnold, Benjamin (Elaine) Barnhill, and Emily (Brunson) DePass, great-grandchildren; Jonah and Eleanor Bryan; Vivian, William, Coleman, and Landreth Arnold; Barrett and Beau Barnhill, Beatrice, Mary Parker, and William DePass, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Beatrice’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Saturday April 29, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Steve Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
