Stuart McKneight

He was born August 24, 1933 in Minneapolis, MN to Gibson and Esther (Olson) McKneight. He married Ulla Lindenfelser on June 22, 1958 in East Peoria. She preceded him in death on August 13, 2003. He later married Mary Jean Nauman on October 1, 2005 in Kickapoo, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his three children, Brian (Stacy) McKneight of Fisher, IL, Laura (Steve) Hart of Morton, IL, and Paul (Laura) McKneight of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Aaron (Alma) McKneight of Chillicothe, IL, Emily (Eric) Esser of Morton, IL, Morgan (Nick) Bonifazi of Lafayette, IN, and Philip McKneight of Tucson, AZ; and four great-grandchildren, Jayson and Logan McKneight and William and Thomas Esser.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Stuart served in the U.S. Army and graduated from the University of Minnesota, with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1956. He worked as a Service Engineer and Manager with Caterpillar Inc. for over 40 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of the East Peoria First United Methodist Church for over 66 years, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Administration Board and the Board of Trustees, and participated in various other Committees and activities. Stuart was also a Past President of the Peoria Knife and Fork Club.

A funeral service will be at 11 am on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 with visitation from 9 to 10:45 am at the East Peoria First United Methodist Church. Cremation will be accorded following the service and a private burial of the urn will be at Hirstein Cemetery at a later date. Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
