Sharon Kaye Compton

Sharon was born on December 28, 1948 in Peoria, IL to Charles A. and Joanne (Colwell) Tewell. She married James E. Compton on September 26, 1970 in Peoria, IL.

Surviving are her husband of almost 45 years, James; her daughters, Julie (Damon) Knaff of Huntley, IL and Jill Compton of Schaumburg, IL; and her three granddaughters, Megan and Allison Knaff and Alyssa Crum. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Joanne and grandson, Gabriel Crum.

Sharon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She babysat for a number of years while her children were growing up and later worked in the cafeteria for Illinois Central College in East Peoria. She was also a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Washington.

Services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11am at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Rev. Thomas Heren will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria and one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church.
