She was born Sep. 16, 1928 in Delavan, IL to Joseph and Josephine (VanBuskirk) Cook. She married George “Bud” Johnson Aug. 25, 1947 in Ogema, WI. He passed away June 2, 2005 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and one infant son.
Survivors include three sons: Gale (Karen) Johnson of Hopedale, Doug Johnson of East Peoria, Denny (LaTina) Johnson of Creve Coeur, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren and three step great-great-grandchildren also one brother, Elmer “Mel” (Betti) Cook of Alexandria, VA and one nephew, Joe Cook of Alexandria.
Joann was a member of the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria.
