Gary Lee Meade

He was born June 6, 1946 in Canton to Louis and Martha (Fife) Meade. He married Bonnie L. Skaggs on May 24, 1970 in Mackinaw. She survives along with one daughter, Melissa D. (Jeremy Smith) Mullen of Pekin, one son, Brandon D. (Sara) Meade of Washington, Il, five grandchildren: Anna (Holden) Robbins of Ashburn, VA, Jimmy Mullen of Pekin, Mikalah Mullen of Pekin, Noah Mullen of Pekin, and Anthony Meade of Morton. He is also survived by three brothers: Lenny Meade, Bruce (Sandy) Meade, Kevin (Terry) Meade, three sisters: Theresa (Barry) Bankert, Cathy (Wendell) Umbarger, Lisa (Daniel) Strobridge, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roland Meade.

Gary owned and operated Gary Meade Allstate Insurance Agency for 33 years. He also worked at Newman Golf Course in Peoria. He was an avid golfer. Gary enjoyed volunteering for 28 years at Parkview Christian Church’s gamblers anonymous program.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services at this time. Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
