Age 77,of Haslett, passed away June 27, 2016, after a short battle with cancer. Reunited in death with beloved family and friends that have gone on before. He was born January 14, 1939, in Morrice, MI. He was a resident of Haslett for over 50 years and retired from GM after 40 years of service. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years.
Terry was a family man. Always caring for family first with unselfish love. He was a humble man and an example of patience, kindness and hard work. He was a quiet man that everybody loved with a contagious smile. Terry loved to spend his free time with family, fishing, camping and riding his bike. He walked 10 miles every week at the mall with friends.
He was a very spiritual man with a strong faith and dedicated to serving others and his church. He set an example with his actions, influencing the lives of others.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Ray E. and Grace (Beebe) Alling; brother, Parke Duane (Marie) Alling and great-granddaughter, Winter Rose Butler
Terry is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Diane (Hunt) Alling; son, Thomas (VeLoie) Alling of Brighton, MI; daughters, Tyanne (Jeff) Agle of Burnsville, MN, and Christine (Patrick) Butler of Eastpointe, MI.
Seven grandchildren: Garren (Kim) Agle, Seth (Katie) Alling, Kayla (Paul) Pagano,
Patricia (Nicholas) Kohler, Joshua (Shaylee) Alling, Julia Butler, and Jessica Butler.
Seven Great-grandsons: Brandt Stevens, Ean and Cooper Agle, Tommy and Marc Alling, Paul (PJ) Pagano, and Erik Kohler.
Also survived by two sisters, Nancy Stander and Vicki (Joseph, deceased) Bartley and Sister-in-law, Florence Alling.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2016 with a viewing before at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 431 East Saginaw, East Lansing. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Okemos. A luncheon will follow at the church.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 30, 5-8 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing.
