In loving memory Judith Ann Pulling, age 77, of East Lansing, Michigan passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Monday, August 28, 2023 the Stoneleigh Residence of Hospice of Lansing. She was laid to rest at Mt. Rest Cemetery on Saturday, September 2, 2023. She was born on June 12, 1946 in Papakura, New Zealand to Philip Arthur Cecil Montegue (Montie) and Violet Rose (Turral) Lange.
She grew up in the area around Auckland, New Zealand. After finishing school she moved to Sydney, Australia to pursue office work. During June 1968 while in Sydney she met Jonathan Pulling, a US Navy sailor on R&R from Vietnam. The following year on July 21st she married Jonathan. They were married for 54 years living in Virginia, Colorado, Georgia, Tennessee, California, Hawaii, and Michigan. They also lived overseas in Italy and Japan. After her husband’s retirement from the Navy they settled in East Lansing for the past 36 years.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, sisters Joy Thewlis, Margaret Symons, and Audrey Lange, brother Keith Lange.
She was survived by her husband Jonathan D. Pulling, Jr, sons Jonathan S. Pulling and wife Sarah of Fort Washington, MD, Eric D. Pulling of Fairfax, Va and Kevin M. Pulling of East Lansing. Also surviving are grandsons Harper, Logan and Sullivan Pulling the sons of Jonathan S. & Sarah Pulling.
Judith was artistic inclined in arts & craft painting, sewing and knitting. She created many quilts and donated many quilts to the Quilts of Valor for service men and women recovering in military hospitals.
