"Tony" was a good friend, classmate and football teammate from Cranbrook. I was honored to be in his wedding and remember him very fondly.  His sense of humor and ready smile will be long remembered.
I was sorry that Tony was unable to attend our 40th reunion this past June as I hoped to reestablish contact after many years.  My sympathies to his family.

I remember Harry as "Tony" from our days together at Cranbrook and then at Michigan.  He wrote a letter in lieu of attending our 40th Cranbrook reunion this past summer so I reached out to him after no contact for many years.  Unfortunately, we were only able to exchange voicemails.  I am so sorry for not being more diligent.  He is a great friend.

  I was fortunate to recruit Harry  to our medical practice here in Lansing in 1981.   He was a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School, and then  completed his OBSTETRICS-GYNECOLOGY residency in Grand Rapids.  He joined Drs Drolett, Plesscher and me.  We immediately found him to be a well-trained and a smart physician - a good find.  He was kind and considerate to patients and our staff.  He was reliable,  hard-working, and didn’t rush through appointments. He really cared about his patients and they were very loyal to him.  They recommended him to their friends.  We all  respected him. After Drs. Drolett and Plesscher’s retirements  Harry and I practiced with Drs. Pat Sartorius, Mary DeWeese, and Paul Schluckebier.  

The nurses in our office, in labor and delivery, and throughout the hospital found him to have a big, compassionate heart.  They affectionately called him “teddy bear”.  This is  an apropos image many of you will recognize.  In the surgical suite he fostered an atmosphere of calm and confidence in difficult situations which reduced the stress level for everyone.

Over the years at Sparrow Dr. Wise  held many leadership positions:  in high risk pregnancy management, in the prenatal testing center, and as Chairperson of the Dept of OB-GYN.  He served many years on the Medical Staff Executive Committee.  He took his responsibilities seriously and went to all those meetings-often at 7 AM or 6 PM.  When there were difficult decisions he didn’t have a knee-jerk reaction but spoke with a thoughtful response. 
Is there anything negative about Harry?  Well - he was a Michigan fan! We always had to debate the MSU vs. U of M games. And for so many years you know who had the bragging rights.

Who was Dr. Wise?
He was TRUSTWORTHY,  a man of INTEGRITY,  COMPASSION and a FINE PHYSICIAN.

Harry, we will miss you.

Tony was a one of a kind soul, with a huge heart. Godfather to his nephew "Cory" and a friend that was always there to help, no matter what. I will miss you dearly Tony. Godspeed.

A beautiful soul entered our Lord and Savior's presence when Dr. Wise left this earthly plane.  He was a resident at St. Mary's Hospital in 1978 when I was a new grad.  I chose him to be my primary physician when we moved to the Lansing area.  His kind, caring and calm demeanor made me feel safe and secure. I am sure that God is now saying "Well done my good and faithful servant".  Thank you, God, for giving me the gift of knowing this beautiful man.  My deepest sympathies to his family.

I did not know Dr Wise personally.  I worked for Delta Airlines at the Lansing Airport and he flew with us frequently.  He was the kindest person--always with a quiet smile, even if there was a delay. I was so sorry to see that he had passed away at such a young age.  He will be missed!

It was always a pleasure to work with Dr. Wise in Labor and Delivery.  He was a very kind and caring soul.  I know he loved his children, his work and his sports.  His Sparrow family will miss him dearly.  My sympathies to his family.

I did not know "Tony" in his professional career, but reading all the messages posted here reminds me of the good-natured 'big kid' when growing up next door to us on Westwood Drive.  I have many good memories of all the Wise boys.  My sympathies to Pete as well as Tony's family.

It was a honor to know & work with Dr. Wise in Labor & Delivery.  He was consistently caring & patient with everyone, especially in those stressful situtations. Quality Man.

Dr. Wise was a gifted teacher- a blend of knowledge, kindness and humor that was appreciated the long hours we all spent with him during training. He will be missed by a great many whose lives he touched.

I will forever appreciate his ability to teach without using intimidation.  He was a benevolent mentor to me and the many other residents that were fortunate enough to be under his guidance.  Thank you Dr Wise for your shared wisdom and kindness.  And although its hard for this MSU grad to say, for you, GO BLUE!

Dr. Wise was one of the smartest and nicest people I have ever known.  It was the perfect combination for a boss.  I am heartbroken by his loss.  I will miss his smiling face and our sports chats on Monday morning.  My condolences to Adam and Erin.  I will miss him dearly.

I worked with Dr. Wise for almost 2 years, and it was a wonderful experience. His wisdom,eagerness to teach, as well as his great smile made me truly enjoy coming to work. I am glad that I had the chance to get to know him. I know for a fact he will be greatly missed by many.

My condolences to the family. Such a wonderful man and Doctor. He will be sadly missed.

Dr. Wise was a great friend and co-worker.  I will miss our chats about Tiger's baseball, the snow (which he despised) and of course work-related topics.  Dr. Wise was a great mentor and role model.  He demonstrated integrity in everything that he did.  I will miss Dr. Wise very much and my work with the Ob/Gyn Department at Sparrow will never be the same.

I worked for Dr. Wise when he was with Capital Area OB/GYN.  He delivered one of my children and was by far one of the most wonderful people I have ever met.  My condolences and prayers go out to your family for your great and untimely loss.

I worked with Dr. Wise when he was a resident in Blodgett's OB/GYN Dept. I remember him as gentle, kind, wise and women were blessed by his knowledge. Prayers for his family.

Dr Wise was one of the most influential people in my obstetrics and gynecology education. He was always willing to staff a difficult case, even if it kept him late and he had a plane to catch. I enjoyed his reassuring smile and manner. His friendly way put all at ease. I was honored to have him be a part of my life and will miss him.

I worked with Dr. Wise for several years at Capital Area OB-Gyn and can truly say he was one of the best people and doctors that I have ever known.
