Diana Lorice Malouf, 68, was born October 10, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY and died on May 8, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her beloved son, Hassan Malouf and seven siblings. Dr. Malouf earned a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from New York University. From 2000-2010 she was visiting and assistant professor at MSU in the department of Reading, Writing and American Culture. She also taught several classes in Arabic. She authored numerous scholarly articles, a book, poetry, and translations of poetry. She was an exuberant lover of the arts and for many years danced with the Habibi Dancers and sang in the Earl Nelson Choir. She was a devoted and active member of the Bahá’í Faith (www.bahai.us) which was foundational to her life and work. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13 at 12 noon at Gorsline Runciman, East Lansing, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48823. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment at Glendale Cemetery in Okemos. Donations may be made to Eaton Community Hospice, 2675 S.
