Age 81, of Lansing passed away April 23, 2016. Delores was born April 6, 1935 in Attica, Michigan to Nester and Alberta Coulter. She was the second of ten children. She attended Lapeer High School, graduating at the age of sixteen. She attended Cleary College earning a business degree in 1952. Delores worked as an executive assistant for the Oldsmobile Division of General Motors Corporation in Lansing and later as an administrative assistant at Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society. Delores was a devoted mother and grandmother. She took great joy in spending time with her family, including attending her grandchildren’s activities. Delores married Philip James Mielock who preceded her in death in 1975. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah; her parents; brothers, Robert Coulter and Daniel Coulter; brother-in law Robert Millard; father- and mother-in-law, James and Dorothy Mielock. She is survived by five children, Cynthia Mielock of Lansing, Michael Mielock of Grand Rapids, Douglas Mielock of East Lansing, Teresa (Rodney) Mielock-Williams of Lathrup. Village, and James (Wendy) Mielock of Grand Rapids. She is survived by eight grandchildren; Carl, Johnny, Sammy and Ben Mielock of Grand Rapids; Xander and Jessica Mielock of East Lansing and Jackson and Maddie Williams of Lathrup Village; brother, Charles (Cheryl) Coulter of Attica; sisters, Margery (Jack) Hutton of Lapeer, Helen Millard of Flint, Sharon (Paul) Hoffman of Chelsea, Dorothy (LaVerne) Behnke of Dryden, Catherine (David) Strong of Lapeer, and Denise (Arlan) Winslow of Imlay City; sisters-in-law, Lynn Coulter and Annita Coulter Winsted – both of Lapeer; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her husband’s family; Margaret Mielock of East Tawas, Gary (Cathy) Mielock of Indian River and Charles (Karen) Mielock of Fishers, Indiana.
A Funeral Mass will be said at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Greater Lansing Food Bank PO Box 16224 Lansing, MI 48901 or Outreach Mass - Diocese of Lansing, 228 North Walnut Street, Lansing, MI 48933.
