Brian M. Newport

Age 56, passed away November 19, 2016. Brian was born November 7, 1960, in Owosso, MI to Dale Newport and Mary Wendt. Brian was a devoted husband and proud father. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping and hunting. Brian was a resident of East Lansing for thirteen years and was a member of the local Carpenters’ Union #1004.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jennifer; daughter, Morgan Newport; sons, Brandon, Caleb and Dane Newport; grandchild, Jordan Newport; father, Dale (Joyce) Newport; mother, Mary Wendt and Bob Schneeberger, and brother, Marc Newport and Beth Wilson; mother-in-law, Joan Ruell; brother-in-law, Joseph Ruell and sister-in-law, Joycelyn (Dave) Kimberley.

Our family wants to extend a sincere love appreciation for the wonderful loving care given to Brian from McLaren 2 Southeast.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016, 2 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing with the Rev. Steve Aiken officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, November 25, 1-3 and 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions in memory of Brian to their local humane society.
