Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17 at the age of 80, leaving a void in our hearts forevermore. Beverly was born May 20, 1933 in Evansville, Indiana to Melvin and Mary Alldredge. She went to high school in Louisville, Kentucky, and when her family moved to Toledo, Ohio, she attended the University of Toledo. It was there where she met the love of her life, Richard. Married 58 years on June 17, 2013, Beverly and Richard attended Ohio State University Medical School together and went on to complete their residency together at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Beverly and Richard moved to Okemos in 1967 and began Collier Surgical Associates, where Beverly practiced as an Anesthesiologist alongside her husband, a general surgeon, for 25 years.
Beloved wife of Richard; adored mother of Steven (Rachelle) Collier of East Lansing, Pamela Collier (Kenneth) Jodway of East Lansing, and Kevin (Jana) Collier of Palm Harbor, Florida; treasured grandmother of Emily and Allison (Ken and Pam Jodway) and Savannah and Cooper, (Kevin and Jana Collier), all who filled her heart with great joy. Beverly is also survived by sister Shirley (Joseph) Gerdenich and brothers Melvin (Barbara) Alldredge and Craig (Arlene) Alldredge, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Beverly enjoyed her retirement years doing what she loved most – spending time with her loving husband, children and grandchildren. She and Richard celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005 at Walt Disney World in Florida, where they enjoyed so many special trips with family over the years.
As a physician, Beverly touched the lives of many, in both big and small ways. As lifelong partner and wife to Richard, she gave her heart. As mother to Steven, Pamela and Kevin, she gave never-ending love and support. As grandma to Emily, Allison, Savannah and Cooper, she gave joy and laughter and a hand to hold.
A Memorial Service will be held for Beverly at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 29 at TRINITY CHURCH, 3355 Dunckel Road in Lansing. Her family will also receive friends two hours prior to the 11:00 a.m. service. For those desiring, contributions may be made to Trinity Church, or Sparrow Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.grlansing.com.
