Barbara Jean Popp

Barbara Jean Popp passed away March 7, 2022 at the age of 85. She was born November 27, 1936 in Lansing, the daughter of Faye Earl and Sophie Remus. She was a 1954 graduate of Haslett High School where she enjoyed cheerleading and was an avid roller skater, performing in various shows. Her beauty landed her jobs as a model in print advertising and live shows. She and her husband, a football coach, raised a family of two children. After living in Colorado and North Carolina, they returned to Michigan in 1969 and founded Popp’s Harmonie House.

The Popps enjoyed entertaining friends at their Haslett home on Lake Lansing and did some travelling with their children and their friends. Some of their favorites were on an Alaskan Cruise and trips to Hawaii along with vacations in Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania where they spent many wonderful visits with family.

Barb's biggest thrills were her husband and children. She also loved cooking, and had her favorites that her family and friends loved. She was an only child and when she married into the huge Popp family she instantly had four brothers and three sisters who treated her more like a sister than a sister-in-law. She and her husband enjoyed many years of supporting the Michigan State Spartans.

Barbara was a long-time member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Surviving are her husband, Robert Popp Sr and children, Robert Popp Jr and Deborah Popp.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes East Chapel, with a Scripture Service at 7:30 pm and Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the church.
