Thomas D. Cline

Thomas D. Cline, 98, of East Hartford, loving husband of 70 years of Pauline (Peruccio) Cline, peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by his caring family on Monday, June 27, 2016 at Riverside Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in East Hartford. Born in Hartford on December 30, 1917, a son of the late Robert H. and Mary (Sylvester) Cline, he had been a resident of East Hartford for most of his life. Thomas was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement, Thomas was employed for over 40 years by Standard Structural Steel Company in Newington. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, East Hartford and was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees. Thomas will be remembered by most for being the “perfect gentleman” who was a devoted husband, special uncle, and a dedicated hard working individual.

Along with his beloved wife Pauline, Thomas is survived by several cherished nieces and nephews, adored grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and dear friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Robert H. Cline; and two sisters, Mary Simkewicz and Frances Cline.

Funeral service will be Saturday (July 2, 2016) at 10 am from the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Church, May Road/Brandon Road, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, (Section AA), East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Saturday morning (July 2, 2016) from 9-10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Thomas’s name may be made to a favorite charity of the donor’s choice.
