Theresa M Lariviere

She was born on September 29,1928 to Louis and Azilda Cyr on the family farm in New Brunswick Canada.

She immigrated to the United States as a young adult where she worked at several Hartford businesses, including Veeder Root, Royal Typewriter, The Hartford Insurance Company, and Pratt and Whitney.

Theresa married Maurice Cyr in 1958 and they had 2 children: Wayne and Lloyd Cyr.

She was widowed in 1966 and remarried in 1968 to Antoine Lariviere. She became a step mother to 3 children: Claudette Dolan, Connie Borger, and Bernard Simms. They were happily married until his death in 2002.

She was an avid gardener and her greatest joy was hosting and cooking for her loved ones, including all the neighborhood kids.

Theresa is survived by her children: Wayne Cyr (and his wife Mireille Cyr) and Lloyd Cyr (and his wife Arline Cyr); her grandchildren: Jessica Cyr, Dylan Cyr (and his wife Barbara Cyr), and Travis Cyr (and his partner Stormy Eason); great grandchildren: Mackenzie Hellyar, Alexis Cyr, Sydney Cyr, Logan Hellyar, Evelyn Cyr, and Grayson Cyr; and siblings: Diane Gagnon and Phillip Cyr of Van Buren, ME and Nova Scotia, Canada respectively. She is also survived by her stepchildren, their families, and many loved nieces and nephews.

She grew up with a very large family and is preceded in death by her parents and 15 other siblings.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 4-7 pm at Benjamin J. Callahan Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 10am at St. Mary’s Parish, 15 Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford, CT, preceded by a viewing at the funeral home 9-9:30 am.
