Ross was a compassionate and warmhearted son, father, brother, cousin, uncle and friend to which he will be forever missed and thought of with such fond memories.
Ross was born in Hartford, CT and resided in the town of South Windsor with his \ parents and two brothers. He grew up on the family farm surrounded by family and of course, plenty of hard work. At an early age he had shown a love for animals. Ross raised a Palomino horse that he named “Pale Face”. He loved his dogs, “Kelly” a Brittany Spaniel, and “Dakota” aka “Goofy” a German Shepard which he adored with all his heart and soul.
Ross attended and graduated from South Windsor High School in 1973. After his graduation he began working full time driving for Sherri Cup out of Kensington, CT. He liked this line of work not only was this the first time he experienced the open road and freedom but it was the first time being on his own and traveling to new places. Ross found his passion in construction which is what drove him into the career path of being an owner/operator of Johnson Brother Excavating Co. with his brothers Douglas and Gary. He became an excellent operator of all types of heavy equipment as well as a master mechanic. After they closed the business, he put his talents to work managing a successful rock quarry for Fairfield Resources in Brookfield, CT. His career path then led him to what he described as the most exciting and fulfilling job of his career at AJM Construction in Passaic NJ., as senior project manager/estimator. He completed his career as senior project manager/estimator for CMC Enterprises in Bloomfield, CT. All jobs he was extremely proud of.
Ross also had a life long love for camping, hunting, fishing, boating, carpentry and woodworking which he loved teaching and sharing his extensive knowledge with his son Brian. Ross was a incredibly multi-talented person and he excelled at everything he put his mind to and once he understood the mechanics of it he wanted to pass along that same knowledge to whomever needed it.
