Sincere Sympathy to the Duffy Family from Mary Buckley and family (Duffy) Offaly, Ireland.

Mrs. Duffy taught me some of the most important lessons I have learned in life; the importance of hard work and the importance to face loss with grace and perseverance. Irish Dancing has been one of the best and most influential memories for me, and I have thought of Mrs. Duffy often over the years.  I am thankful for the impact she has had on my life.  I am saddened by this news, and am so sorry for your loss.

To all the Duffy Family, Your mother's influence on our lives will never be lost. The Sundays at the Irish American Home, the Fridays at your home and the Feis in the heat of summer. She taught us dance and music.

For more than 45 years I Have always remembered May Duffy each time I heard an Irish dance tune or saw my sisters.  We were there at the start and kept her with us always.  I see her young and vibrant and ageless.  I will always love her and think fondly about my time as her student and friend.  I am sad that I never got to kiss her good bye and thank her.

So many of our memories are from the old Irish American Home on Grove Street, a Feis wherever we had to travel to, and the basement in your family home as your mother tirelessly taught us how to dance and how to deal with so many rambunctious children at once! My deepest sympathies to the Duffy family. Thank you all for sharing this wonderful lady with all of us. I have so many great memories of dancing lessons and my trip to Ireland with Mr and Mrs. Duffy, and Liz. What a pleasure for me to then be able to bring my own chilren Andrea and Casey back to Carroll Road for their own lessons with New England's very own "Queen of Irish Dancing".

My deepest sympathies to the Duffy family----what can be said about such a special lady ?? Mrs.Duffy was an inspiration to so many dancers. She always had a smile & hug for every dancer,had the patience of a saint & unlimited encouragement!! My daughter Kellie & I have many memories we will cherish of all the time spent with the remakable Mrs.Duffy !!

My sincere sympathy to the Duffy family on the passing of their mother. She was a special lady who inspired and enriched our lives and Irish hertitage. My brother and I were blessed to have her as our teacher. Every opportunity I have had to Irish step dance brings back some many wonderful memories of Sunday afternoons at the Irish American Home in Hartford, Friday night practice in her basement on Carroll Rd.,or of competing at the many Feis's in New England. Just as I remember the many Jig,Reel and Hornpipe steps she taught I will always remember Mrs. Duffy.
