John attended and graduated from Rockville High School, he proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney, and kept busy as the owner operator of Branch Tree Service. He was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church for many years. He enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews camping and other outdoor activities. Being an uncle brought much happiness to his life.
He will be remembered for his helpfulness, always willing to be the handyman to fix anything from a leaky pipe, to changing spark plugs on a vehicle.
John was dearly missed by his mother Grace (Davy) Coburn, who passed away on August 23rd, and is survived by his sister Diana Grace Piccarello, sister-in-law Charlene Monaco Kulo, special nieces & nephews; Karen Kulo, Steven Frank Kulo III, Joseph Kulo, Laurie Kulo Michaud, Cheryl Kulo Gorski, Kimberly Kulo Mrozinski, Kristina Kulo Greenwood, Kerry Kulo Hannigan, and Kenny Kulo, and several grand nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father Steven Frank Kulo Sr., brothers; Steven Frank Kulo Jr., Edward Allen Kulo and Girard Harley Kulo, and his uncle John Kulo. He was also predeceased by his step father John Piccarello.
Family and friends are welcome to gather at 10am on Friday August 26, 2016 at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, CT 06108, with a Memorial Service to follow immediately at 10:30am at the funeral home.
