Donald John Alex

Don was the son of the late John & Maria Alex and was preceded in death by his brother Ron and cousin Gary. With heavy hearts, Don leaves behind by wife Linda & 3 children; Nicole & her fiancé Steven, Scott & his wife Erin, Christopher & his fiancé Lauren. He also had many grandchildren that he loved & adored; Anazia, Kyanna, Logan, Mila, Carmine & Owen. He leaves behind many other loved ones including his sister Cindy, brother Dennis, cousins and friends who became family along the way.

Don graduated from East Hartford High School, class of 1976. He worked at Bank of America prior to retiring.

He had a profound love of vacations— he enjoyed spending many summers at Hampton Beach with his family & going on cruises with friends. He took pride in his vegetable garden, was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed going to Las Vegas & playing card games with his friends.

His friends & family will miss his witty personality and infectious laugh.

In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree in Don’s name.

Calling Hours for Donald will be held Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave, East Hartford, Connecticut 06108.
