Dominic A. Cordone, 85, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of the late Gloria (Pavan) Cordone, died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Manchester Manor. Dominic was born in Middletown on January 22, 1925, son of the late Michael and Laura (Barbieri) Cordone, and graduated from Middletown High School. Dominic received a Bachelor’s degree from Hilliard College (now University of Hartford), and was employed for many years by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. Dominic proudly served his country during WWII as a Technical Sargeant in the U.S. Army, and was a member of The Army-Navy Club in Manchester. An avid Yankee Baseball and UCONN Basketball fan, Dominic was also an active member of the Mt. Carmel Society in East Hartford and the Glastonbury Senior Center. Dominic was also an active parishioner of The Church of St. Dunstan, Glastonbury. Dominic is survived by a son David Cordone and his wife Marion “Lori” Terry; 2 sisters, Marie Franchini and Lorraine Campolieto; 10 nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Dominic was pre-deceased by 2 brothers, Michael and Eugene Cordone.
Funeral Services will begin Wednesday, June 30, 9:00am at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, followed at 10:00am by a Mass of Chritian Burial at The Church of St. Dunstan, *** Manchester Road, Glastonbury.
Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Calling Hours will be Tuesday, June 29, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made in Dominic’s name to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492, or to the American Cancer Society,1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708-2948.
