Daniel Robert Raymond

Daniel Robert Raymond, 82, of East Hartford, formerly of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Dobbins) Raymond for 57 years. Daniel was born in Hartford on November 4, 1932, a son of the late Daniel and Theresa Raymond.

Daniel proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of La Salette Seminary and UConn, Storrs Campus. He and Patricia have been longtime parishioners of Blessed Sacrament Church. Daniel was employed by Travelers Insurance Company as an Executive for over 30 years. He loved the game of Golf and was proud of his “hole in one” accomplishment, he was an avid Boston Red Sox and UConn basketball fan, he enjoyed boating, trips to the Cape but spending time with his family brought him the greatest joy in life.

In addition to his wife Patricia, Daniel will be dearly missed by his daughter Gina Lemmon and her husband Chris of So. Glastonbury and their children; Sydney, Christopher Jr. and Jonathan Lemmon, his son Dan Raymond and his wife Yvette of Enfield and their nephew Jesse Yattaw, his daughter Lisa Tonski and her husband Joe of Rockville and their children; Jennifer Zachorewitz, Justin Zachorewitz and his fiancée Chelsea Stokes, Joseph Tonski and his wife Bella and George Tonski, his son David Raymond and his wife Mary-Beth of East Hartford and their children; David and Jacqueline Raymond, his brother Carl Raymond and his wife Andrea and his sister Linda MacDonald and her husband Robert, several nieces and nephews. Daniel was predeceased by his sister-in-law Lea Perkins Raymond, brother-in-law Jack Dobbins and nephews Daniel Charles Raymond and Daniel Wayne Raymond.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Daniel’s memory to an organization of the Donor’s choice.

Friends and family are invited to attend a period of visitation on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 4-7pm at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tnpk., Glastonbury, CT 06033. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 28, at 10am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 36 Cambridge Dr., East Hartford, CT 06118. Everyone is asked to meet at church.
