Barbara (Devine) Palmer, of West Hartford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2013. She was born in Hartford to the late William Francis and Elizabeth (Peterson) Devine. She was employed by Travelers Insurance Co. for 35 years before her retirement and was a member of the Traveler’s Girls Club. Barbara loved the theater, especially Broadway shows and the Goodspeed Opera House where she was a season ticket holder. She was a trivia extraordinaire, even appearing on an episode of the television show Jeopardy. Barbara traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally.
Barbara is survived by her brother, William F. Devine Jr. and his wife Marlene of Brockton, MA; her sister Marilyn D. McPhee and her husband Wayne of Wethersfield, CT; her nephews, William, Scott and Kevin; her nieces, Elizabeth, Tracy and Kerry; her extended family members, Brett, Thorne and Royce Palmer. She was predeceased by her former husband Paul S. Palmer Jr.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 12th, from 8:30AM to 10:30AM, at Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tpk., Glastonbury CT 06033 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM, at St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church, 30 Jones Hollow Road, Marlborough, CT. Burial will follow in South Cemetery in Tolland.
