away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in Harwich, MA after a long life of joy and fulfillment. She was at peace. Barbara’s unconditional love, kindness, and wit will forever be

remembered by her five children, Robert and Cathy Dagon of Manchester, CT,

Maureen and Michael Breen of Moultonborough, NH, Michael and Maureen Dagon, Patricia and Dwight Colby of Moultonborough, NH and Dianne Dagon of Harwich, MA, her 10 beloved grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Kathy Rucci and her husband Ed of Westerly, RI. In addition, while she leaves an extended family of several nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly, Barbara goes on to join her husband Jim and grandson James in eternal peace.

Barbara was an amazing and compassionate mother, mother-in-law, grandmother,

sister, aunt and friend. Her welcoming nature and warmth drew everyone to her. Much of her life was spent with her loving husband Jim in East Hartford, Connecticut before they retired together in Moultonborough, New Hampshire where they continued to share their time with family and friends. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by family and watching her loved ones make memories together. Her legacy is one of unconditional love and a remarkable spirit of hospitality which she passed on to all who knew her.

Family and friends are asked to gather at Benjamin J. Callahan/Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave., East Hartford on Saturday, May 12th at 10:00am for a memorial service, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Hartford.
