Anne D Ruggiero

Anne D. Ruggiero, age 100 passed away peacefully on October 25, 2023 after a brief illness. Her husband Michael of 55 years predeceased her. She was born one of nine children in Hartford to Anthony and Mary (DeLucco) Prete. She resided in East Hartford for 40 years before moving to East Windsor in 2000. Anne retired from Travelers Ins. Co. in 1988.

She leaves behind her daughter, Phyllis Darby of East Windsor, her son and daughter-in-law Luke and Laura Ruggiero of Fernandina Beach, FL and her daughter Marianne Herron of Enfield. She also leaves behind the loves of her life, her grandchildren Michael (Mickey), David, Tina and Cindy along with her great-grandchildren Kaleigh, Brenna, Jakob, Madison, Ava and Harper. Anne was blessed to have had two great-great-granddaughters Luna and Haizley. Anne was pre-deceased by her adoring son-in-law Robert Herron of Enfield. In addition, she leaves behind Geraldine Rehla of East Windsor, her one surviving sibling, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the wonderful care given to Anne by her caregivers the last 5 years – her Physical Therapist Joe, her Nurse Hazel and Personal Caregivers Debbie and Cassandra.

Calling hour for Anne will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Ave, East Hartford, Connecticut 06108. Celebration of life will occur Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10:45 AM to 11:15 AM, 318 Burnside Ave, East Hartford, Connecticut 06108. Committal service will occur Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Hillside Cemetery, Hillside Street, East Hartford, Connecticut 06108.
