Michael J. Gettings, of East Amherst, entered into rest on October 15, 2023 at age 76. Beloved husband of 54 years to Carol (nee Lazeration) Gettings; devoted father of Sean (Brooke Uceda) Gettings and Alan (Susan) Gettings; cherished grandfather of Doolin, Evelyn and Hope Gettings; loving son of the late Paul and Lucille Gettings; dear brother of Patrick (Donna) Gettings, Maureen (William) Mosler, Timothy (Tracy) Gettings, Dennis (late Susan) Gettings, Judy Link, Theresa (Gunther) Clemens, Robert (Patricia) Daley, and the late Barbara Jock, Karen Kennedy and Daniel Gettings; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Mike was a veteran of the US Army and was stationed in Vietnam during the Vietnam War where he served on the 361st Aviation Brigade. He was an avid Notre Dame fan, a longtime volunteer at Reinstein Woods, and drove for the Disabled American Veterans and Rural Transit in Clarence. Relatives and friends may visit DENGLER, ROBERTS, PERNA FUNERAL HOME, 8630 Transit Rd., East Amherst, on Friday (October 20, 2023) from 10am-1pm. A Celebration of Mike's life will immediately follow at 1pm.
