Born on Wednesday, February 8, 1961, in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, to the late Robert Nelson Lyons and Anita Sue Skeen Lyons, where his father stationed at the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. A beloved brother Donald Nelson Lyons also preceded him in death.
Mark was a plumber for J.A. Croson, who loved his work family, Mark was a jack of all trades and was a plumber for most of his adult career. He loved going to the beach, fishing or just hanging out with family and friends. He loved to cook out on the grill rain or shine! You could find Mark with his ear phones on listening too many of his favorite songs. He loved music and listened to it while working or even while he was grilling. Mark had a great love for all types of music.
Watching sports was one of the many passions he held. His two favorite teams were the Boston Red Socks and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He loved dogs, especially Pearl, his Great Pyrenees.
Lord of the Rings and The Avengers were adventure movie trilogies he loved watching, a good ole’ western “Wagon Train” and “Rawhide” were very enjoyable times. His favorite comedy television show was “The Big Bang Theory”.
Mark loved his family, a caregiver to his parents until their death. Always taking care of his friends and family when needed. He also continuing to care for his father’s goats until his passing.
Mark was a true fighter until the end.
Mark left behind two sisters, Jennifer Robin Lyons, of Angier, NC, and Melanie Susan Lyons, of Linden, NC: a nephew, Christopher Nelson Johnson, and wife Cassidy, of Coats, NC: two great-nephews, Cayden Johnson and Camden Johnson, both of Coats, NC: and host of extended family and friends.
On Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. family and friends with gather to honor his memory.
A celebration of life service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Cromartie & Miller Funeral Home.
