Jimmy Stanley Godwin Sr.

Jimmy was born July 29, 1947, to the late William and Velma Core Godwin of Dunn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Jernigan and brothers, William (Bill) Godwin, Jerry Godwin, and Gary (Tootsie) Godwin.

He was a well-known and highly recognized certified auto mechanic for over 30 years. After retirement, Jimmy enjoyed his days farming. He also served our country for 13+ years in the North Carolina Army National Guard.

Jimmy is survived by his sons, Jimmie Godwin Jr. and wife Amanda, Jamie Godwin and wife Suzanne, and one grandson, Jaxson Godwin.

His sisters Glenda Smith, Shelby Porter, Margie Godwin, Lorraine Johnson and Teresa Baker, and his brothers George Godwin and Donald Godwin also survive Jimmy.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Cromartie-Miller.

Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home with Rev. John McCray officiating.

Burial will immediately follow at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn, NC.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday and Thursday at the home of Jamie and Suzanne Godwin.
