Janice Eileen Stancil

Janice was born May 21, 1950, in Harnett County the daughter of the late Walter Gainey and Rose Ellen Crane Gainey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Arnold Stancil and brothers, Jerry and Donald Gainey.

Janice retired with over 20 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved her family especially her grandchildren. She lived everyday as if it was the last one, enjoying life to the fullest.

She and her sisters went to the beach and the mountains every year. She always liked going to Cherokee and Little River. She loved activities that were done outdoors, in her younger years she loved riding horses and gardening.

Janice is survived by her Husband of 55 years: Willard Arnold Stancil of the home.

A Son: Martin P. Stancil & (wife) Stephanie of Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Sisters: Joan Bass of Linden, NC; Jill Hobgood & (husband) Tommy of Oxford, NC.

& Dora Soto & (husband) Mike of Spring Lake, NC.

A Brother: Steven Gainey & (wife) Tonya of Linden, NC.

Sister-in-Law: Audrey Gainey of Linden, NC.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 2:30 P.M. until 4:30 p.m.at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn, NC.

Funeral services will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Cromartie & Miller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randy Beasley officiating.

A celebration of life service at the residence will be at a later date.

Committal services will be private.
