Ms. Earlene Tew Jackson, age 96 of the Plainview Community died, Sunday Morning, March 19, 2023 at Harnett Woods Rehab in Dunn.
Ms. Jackson was born November 4, 1926 in Sampson County the daughter of the late Newbern Tew and Ida West Tew and is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn H. Jackson. She is also preceded in death by an infant son, Bennis Keith Jackson, son, Eddie H. Jackson, Grandson, Chad Lee Jackson, Granddaughter, Christie T. Jackson, Great Grandson, Dallas H. Jackson and son-in-law, Kenneth Raynor. She was the last of her siblings.
Earlene was the owner and operator of Plainview Grocery & Grill for over 25 years and a seamstress for many years. She was a lifelong member of Lee’s Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church where she was a member of the flower ministry. She was very active senior in the church.
During her years running the Grill which was located beside the Plainview Elementary School, she cooked and fed many children that went to the school. She was always concerned for the children and if any were not picked up by the end of the day, she made sure they had a way home. She was a huge Nascar Fan and a diehard Dale Earnhardt Fan.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, she loved her family and enjoyed family reunions and gatherings. She loved her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law deeply. She had lived at the Senior Citizens Village for 3 years. The other residence enjoyed Earlene and had given her the name “Queen Bee”.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 11:00 am at Lee’s Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Wagoner and Rev. Dale Belvin officiating. Burial will follow in Williford Cemetery.
She is survived by: Her Daughter: Glenda J. Carraway & (husband) Jimmy of Dunn, NC.
A Son: Ricky Jackson and (wife) Diane of Roseboro, NC.
Grandchildren: Billy R. Jackson, Jr. & (wife) Patty; Ollen Glenn Jackson; Robin Jackson & (wife) Kim; Ricky Jackson, Jr.; Eddie Jackson, Jr.
Great Grandchildren: Allen Jackson & Sarah, Preston Jackson & Katti, Samantha Jackson & Robert, Brett Jackson & Alison, Houston Jackson & Harley, Hollee Jackson, Anslee Jackson, Logan Jackson and Chad Jackson.
Great Great Grandchildren: Levi, Lily, Weston, Hudson and Clayton.
Daughter-in-Law: Joyce Jackson of Dunn, NC.
The family will receive friends Tuesday Evening, March 21, 2023 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn.
