Mr. Donald S. Barefoot, age 92, of 703 Westbrook Ave., Dunn died Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Mr. Barefoot was born in Sampson County on August 1, 1925 the son of the late J, Lovitte Barefoot & Esther McLamb Barefoot and is the preceded in death by 2 Sisters, Ometa Williams & Ruby Thornton and 4 brothers, Howard, James U., Omax & J.L. Barefoot, Jr. Donald served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a World War II Veteran. He was the owner of Barefoots Gulf Service Station and retired from the Harnett County Judical System where he served as Magistrate for 21 years. He was a member of Hood Memorial Christian Church where he served as a church deacon. He loved his church and was very active in the church, he loved and cherished his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017 at 11 am at Hood Memorial Christian Church with Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Barefoot of Dunn, NC and Doug Barefoot & (wife) Emily of Dunn, NC. Grandchildren: Anita McMahan & Michael of Wilmington, NC; Gina Wilkins & Richard of Wilmington, NC; Tracy Barefoot & Jinger of Dunn, NC; Tyler Barefoot & Terri of Clayton, NC; Greyson Barefoot & Erin of Dunn, NC. Great Grandchildren: Taylor Barefoot, Eva McMahan, Grace Barefoot & Devon McMahan Sisters: Georgia Baker of Falcon, NC; Daisy Bass of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Ima Jean Tart of Dunn, NC The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn and at other times at the home.
