KLINGBIEL, Paul H, (94), of Dunedin, Florida, died January 14, 2014. Mr. Klingbiel was born in Watertown, Wisconsin, and moved to Florida from Annandale, Virginia, in 1982. He served in the Army Signal Corps in WWII. He received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in linguistics from American University. During his 31 year Federal service career in the Washington, DC, area, Mr. Klingbiel was employed as a Research Linguist by the Defense Technical Information Center for 26 years holding several executive positions.
Mr. Klingbiel has been listed in the Who’s Who in Government, the South and Southwest, Science and Engineering, America, and the World. He was also a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the New York Academy of Sciences. He was a member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church, Clearwater, Florida. He was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Mildred L. Klingbiel. Survivors include 2 daughters, Alice Jane Blessley and her husband, David S. Blessley, of N. Potomac, MD, and Jo Ann Grayson and her husband, the late Stewart M. Grayson, of Salem, VA, and 2 grandsons, Douglas S. Grayson and Daniel P. Grayson, a brother, Carl Klingbiel and his wife Nancy from Wisconsin, and two nephews. Burial is in National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St Matthias Lutheran Church, 2751 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Florida 33759.
