Mary "Moira" van den Heuvel

She is, and forevermore will be, sorely missed by John, her husband of 51 years, children Teresa (Larry), Kevin (Susan), Brian (Kim) and Dennis (Julie) and grandchildren Lily, Miles, Connor, Sarah, Joseph, Andrew, Max and Nora. Predeceased by her parents Mary and Desmond Kiely and brothers John Peter and John, Moira is the beloved sister of Michael (Margaret), Gerard (Lynn) and Sean (Karen) and adored sister-cousin of Rita (Andy). Her large circle of cherished family and friends will miss her greatly. Moira’s compassion, wit and wisdom were legendary, and she used these gifts to benefit countless students as a wonderful teacher at several HWCDSB schools.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful nurses and doctors at Juravinski Hospital Ward C3, St. Peter's Hospital Ward 3 West and St. Joseph's Home Care.

Funeral Mass will be held at St Augustine’s Church, 58 Sydenham St., Dundas, on Wednesday, August 8 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 7 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at The Marlatt Funeral Home, 195 King St. W., Dundas. Donations may be made in Moira’s honour to the Good Shepherd Centre or the Canadian Cancer Society.
