I am sad to read of Doreen's passing. She was a lovely kind woman who always had a smile and kind words when we met. I knew Doreen through her husband Roy who I worked with for many years. 

I have lived on Helen St. for the past 20 years.  When I think of Doreen, I think of her walking the neighbourhood children to school together, like a mama duck herding her ducklings.  It takes a special person to have the patience, love and good humour to do that day after day!
A donation to Hamilton Food 4 Kids has been made in her memory to honour her commitment to her young charges.
My sympathies to Roy and the family.  I hope that you are comforted by all of your memories of your life together with Doreen.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Doreen.  Roy, my sympathy to you and your family at this sad time.  I played many inter-league tennis games with Doreen as my partner.  We always had a fun time and many laughs.  I remember her great smile and how kind she was.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Cowell's passing. I will always remember her blowing the whistle to summon all us boys from our outdoor adventures. Heard for miles, we were never out of her care...and command!

Very sorry to hear of Doreen’s passing. Being a cousin of my dad, John, I did hear of that generation and the family connections. I remember talking with Roy and Doreen at the family reunion for Aunt Shirley’s 90th birthday in 2011. I loved how we shared a love for miniature schnauzers and RV ing! Our thoughts and prayers for comfort are with you all at this sad time. 

Doreen was my lifetime friend.  We met at the American Can Co...We shared so much together.  I was her bridesmaid and she was mine.  Through thick and thin she was always there for me.  In later years, due to medical issues we did not see each other as much but Doreen was always in my thoughts.   A great lady who was my mentor.....loved her dearly.  Condolences to all the family....You will miss her as will I.....Eunice and Paul Porritt. 

Roy and Family.  My condolences at this sad time.  Doreen was one of the first Dundas Tennis Club members to welcome me as a newcomer to the Club.   She was so friendly and helpful, and introduced me to her tennis friends, and we enjoyed our games.
Doreen was compassionate and understanding.   She always spoke well of her family and cared deeply for them.  She will be missed by many.

My heartfelt condolence for your loss.  Moms are special people , and I have many fond memories of Doreen, or as I would call her Mrs Cowell! The one that stands out the most is she was the time keeper of Helen Street for all us when we were children. When the whistle blew, ( which we could hear all the way in the driving park), it was either dinner time or bed time!!!! May you find solace in the fond memories of your mom.

To the family,

I am saddened to hear of Doreen’s passing. She would come to my home to have her hair cut during the 90’s and early 2000’s before I retired. I remember her joyous smile all the time. Doreen and I had many wonderful conversations about any topic, nothing was off limits. That’s what I loved about her,  her openness. Doreen shared stories of Roy and her children and was so proud of everyone.
