It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Cyril Varinsky, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Cyril was a devoted husband of 55 years to his surviving wife, Milada (née Nadaska). He is predeceased by his sister Milka and survived by his brother, Jan. He was a loving father to his daughters Susan (Matthew) and Marta (Derek), and son Martin. He was also a cherished grandfather to his granddaughters Sylvia, Jillian and Lucy.
Cyril was born in the former Czechoslovakia (Slovakia) and immigrated to Canada with his wife in 1969 where they eventually settled in Hamilton and raised their family. As an Amateur Radio enthusiast (VE3HVJ, VE3LB), Cyril maintained friendships in Slovakia as well as far and wide across the globe. As a skilled handyman with a “can do” attitude, he could fix anything and adeptly tackled any project at home. He had a quick wit, a warm laugh and a generous heart. Cyril was happiest spending an evening around the table with his loving family and friends. We will miss him profoundly.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers, nursing staff and doctors at Saint Joseph’s Villa for their devotion and kindness.
Visitation will be held at the Marlatt Funeral Home “Swackhamer Chapel”, 195 King Street West, Dundas on Wednesday, August 14th from 6 pm – 9 pm, with prayers at 8:45 pm.
