Debra “Deb” McGee passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the age of 61 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Deb fought until the very end, and was surrounded by family when she passed. Deb is survived by her husband, Stephen “Steve” McGee of Nacogdoches, TX, her son, Michael McGee of San Antonio, TX, her daughter and son-in-law Megan and Zachary Ninemire of Irving, TX, and her daughter and son-in-law Melanie and Michael Hitchcock of Cedar Hill, TX., as well as her four grand-children, Caleb Ninemire, Madison McGee, Mallory Ninemire, and Ryan Ninemire. She is also survived by a brother, Richard “Todd” Kidd of New Braunfels, TX and a sister, Paula DeLeon of New Braunfels, TX. Deb is preceded in death by her father, Leslie W. Kidd and her mother, Arlie Fae Kidd, as well as one grandchild, Anthony Todd Ninemire. Deb was born on September 21, 1953 in Landstuhl, Germany. As a military child, she spent her childhood spanning the globe from Germany and France to Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. She moved to Texas with her family around 1967, where she graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1971. She married Stephen Ray McGee of Smithville, Texas, on September 2, 1972. Deb dedicated her life to being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending her time with her family. She was involved in the PTA and other organizations for her children. She loved to travel, whether it was visiting family or seeing new places. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching their athletic events. She loved sports and her Green Bay Packers. A funeral is scheduled for 2:00pm Thursday, May 28, 2015 at David Clayton & Sons Funeral Home at 200 W. Center Street, Duncanville, Texas 75116. There will be a visitation at 1:00pm before the service. There will also be an interment service immediately following at Little Bethel Memorial Park at 1803 Cedar Hill Road Duncanville, TX 75137. Following the interment, the family will receive guests at an open reception for family and friends to celebrate her life at the home of Michael and Melanie Hitchcock.
