She spent some of her years growing up on Park Point. One of her favorite things to do while growing up was to go to the movies with her younger brother Dick and watch Westerns at the Lyric, Strand, and the Granada theatres. This was during the Great Depression, and many times you could get in by bringing a can of food. Tarzan movies, starring Johnny Weissmuller, were another of her favorites. She graduated from Denfeld High School in 1943, and right after graduation she got her 1st and only job with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, starting as a telephone operator. She held many different positions while working there, and retired after 35 years. In the spring of 1969, she met Wallace Wolff, who came with a ready-made family. On June 27th of 1970, she married Wallace. Together they traveled around most of the world. They spent many winters soaking up the sun in Florence, AZ. They were married for almost 45 years until Wallace's passing in 2015. Gloria was generous and adventurous, loved to read, was a fantastic storyteller, and loved the Lord. Gloria will be missed by all that loved her.
She is survived by her brother, Richard (Ruth) Shearer; niece, Colleen (Jon) Lavine; nephew, Kevin (Carrie) Shearer, nieces, Kathy and Jeanie; step children, Wallace Jr. (Julie) Wolff, Shirley Wilmot, Janet (Tom) Headland, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews.
