I remember seeing Mr. Ebert as a freshman at the Brainerd building. My memories of him were that of an eternally smiling man with a great sense of humor. Just having him around made transitions far easier, and my memories of school are linked to him and the Brainerd building. My sincerest thoughts and prayers are with all of his family during this difficult time.

Our prayers and thoughts are with all of you. I remember Bud as a dedicated educator and s great teacher.

I was a student at Libertyville-Fremont HS, having transferred there in the middle of my sophomore year in 1956.  Mr. Ebert became the school's first  tennis coach, with a fledgling tennis program.  Libertyville lacked tennis courts on which we could practice, so Mr. Ebert had us practice hitting tennis balls on the basketball court, with a rope stretched across to simulate a net.  Nonetheless, the few of us who played on the team (Mike Lakin, Dick Hill, George Gaffney, etc.) were remarkably successful, winning the Conference Championship in our senior year and p[laying in the District Finals - losing to a much better team from Lake Forest...but acquitted ourselves well even so.  Mr. Ebert was in no small way responsible for our team's success, as he supported us and drove us to every match.  For me, having won the Conference Championship in doubles (with Dick Hill), it was the crowning achievement in my "athletic career" (it was my only sport), and it led to my getting a small scholarship to play tennis in college (not nearly as successful).  It was my honor to play for Mr. Ebert, and I will never forget him...

You know we all have a people in our lives who make a difference, they open doors or direct our paths. He was the Principal of my Freshman class '84. As a sophomore he taught a class that was an introduction to aviation. He gave me my first 2 flights in a small plane. His Daughter was a student at The UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA. It was because of him and his daughter that I applied for early admission and became a student at UND at 16 years of age. 
He is the reason I was one of the first 100 pilots in the U.S. to be trained to fly Boeing's 787 Dreamliner aircraft. 
His life directly influenced me in every way. In is passing, I can only think I hope to live up to all he gave to me.

Mr Ebert was my freshman football coach in 1954.  Remember he used to take his shoe off and boom long punts.  He made football fun!

So sorry to learn this.  Bud was a teacher and coach who made things fun.  He and Char were special to all of us in the LHS class of 64.  Later in life Bud became one of my flying mentors, got me into Stick & Rudder, and we remained friends for so many years.  My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family.

So sorry to hear about Mr. Ebert's death.  He was my husband, Dan Mueller's  uncle.  May God comfort and give peace to Mrs. Marian and all the family.  Our prayers are with each one of you.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mr. Ebert's death. I remember him as a wonderfully kind person, both as the father of a childhood friend and as the Principal at Libertyville High School, Brainard Building. I know he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
