Steven Herbert Miggo

Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 22 years, Kathy, and his beloved sons, Max, Conor, and Blake. He is also survived by his mother, Janet, and his younger brother, David. He is preceded in death by his father, Gunter, and his brother, Scott.

Steve was born on September 1, 1964, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Gunter Paul and Janet Mae (Oma) Miggo. As the middle of three brothers, Steve grew up in a close-knit family that valued hard work, creativity, and togetherness. His parents played a significant role in shaping his character. His father instilled in Steve the importance of perseverance and precision, often teaching him the art of building and repairing things around the house. His mother demonstrated the strength of kindness and the beauty of finding joy in everyday moments. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, encouragement, and a deep respect for family traditions.

In addition to his parents’ guidance, Steve developed a strong bond with his maternal grandparents, who lived nearby on a family farm. He fondly recalled his formative years spent alongside his grandfather, learning the values of hard work and pride in accomplishment through long days feeding cows, milking goats, harvesting crops, and baling hay. Steve often described baling hay with his grandfather as the “best job he ever had!”

Steve graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1982 and pursued higher education with great determination. He earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational psychology from Ohio University in 1986 and a master’s degree in labor relations from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business in 1987. Steve embarked on a successful career in human resources and operational leadership. Over the years, he owned his own business and contributed to respected brands such as Elmer’s Products, Victoria’s Secret, and Safelite AutoGlass.

It was at Safelite that Steve’s professional career flourished. In his 15-year tenure, he contributed significantly to Safelite’s explosive growth, operational excellence, and customer centricity. His caring leadership style, warm personality, and visioning skills made him one of the most valued leaders in Safelite’s 75+ year history. Steve’s leadership style was defined by his unwavering focus on people. While serving as the Executive Vice President at Safelite, he pioneered a “people first” philosophy, believing that the success of any organization lies in valuing, supporting, and empowering its people. His approach extended beyond achieving business objectives; it was about cultivating an environment where individuals could thrive, embodying his core belief that people are the driving force behind success.

Above all, Steve was a devoted husband, father, and friend. Together, he and Kathy built a life rooted in love, family, and community. Their greatest pride and joy are their three sons, around whom their world revolves. His actions spoke louder than words, whether through small gestures of kindness or his unwavering commitment to others.

Steve’s legacy of integrity, kindness, and resilience will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Schoedinger Dublin. Following the service a luncheon will be at Wedgewood Country Club, 9600 Wedgewood Blvd, Powell, OH 43065.
