Roger W. Howdyshell II

Roger was born August 20, 1962, in Sistersville, WV. He grew up and graduated from Sistersville High School where he excelled at football and was an excellent golfer.

In 1989, Roger experienced a severe accident leaving him paralyzed. In the following years, with the support of his loving wife Lora, he demonstrated extreme determination, overcoming life’s new challenges and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1993. He worked for Xerox Corporation as an Agent Owner (Copy King) in Parkersburg, WV, then Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, Ohio. Roger was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, supporting his team at many games. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church in Hilliard, Ohio.

Roger lived life with a tremendous amount of passion and love for his family. He cherished the time with family and friends over everything. He will be remembered as a caring, loving person, who was never afraid to speak the truth. Roger was a wonderful husband, tremendous brother, and an unparalleled uncle! Roger is preceded in death by his younger brother Brian Howdyshell, his father Roger Howdyshell, and mother Jean Howdyshell. He has now been reunited with them in Heaven.

Roger is survived by his wife Lora of 35 years, who will miss him dearly. Her parents, Richard and Judy Glover. He is also survived by his sisters, Beri Fox and Sally Audie (Brian) and his brother, C.R. Howdyshell (Amy); Rick Glover (brother-in-law), Robin Rotolo (sister-in-law); Dominic Rotolo (brother-in-law). Additionally, Roger is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Michael Fox, Jeanne Scherer and Jennifer Butler; Christopher Audie and Brandon Audie; Christina Howdyshell Browning, Breanne Howdyshell Boeke and Drew Howdyshell; Juliana, Olivia and Gabriela Rotolo; Sam Glover; and sixteen great nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Roger will be held on Friday June 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church; 4475 Dublin Road, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
