Laura was born to Harold and Nancy (Gadreau) Horner in Toledo on July 9, 1959. She grew up in Cockeysville, MD, and graduated from Delaney High School in 1977. She earned a BS in Social Services from the Ohio State University in 1981. She was a parishioner of St. John Lutheran Church.
Laura served as a social worker for many years, but the joy of her life was raising her sons and more recently watching them become husbands and fathers. She proudly supported Matthew in his golf pursuits, and was Tyler’s biggest fan at hockey games. Her unwavering dedication to family helped shape them into the men they are today. After her boys grew up, Laura pursued her passion for interior decorating. She founded her own company, Finishing Touches by Laura, to create beautiful spaces for clients and friends alike. Her radiant smile and cheerful laughter brightened every room, and her signature chocolate chip cookies delighted everyone who tasted them. She will be deeply missed, but these memories will be forever cherished by all who knew her.
Laura is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Steve; her sons Matthew (Meredith) Stauch of Atlanta, GA, and Tyler (Katie) Stauch of Louisville, CO; and two adoring grandsons Charlie and Maverick. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Wayne) Diller of Sarasota, FL, her brother-in-law William Turner of Lewes, DE, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Diane Turner.
All are invited to attend a visiting hour with the family, which will be held on Tuesday, December 3, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 6135 Rings Road, Dublin. A church service will follow immediately at 4:00 p.m. Family and friends are then invited to gather for a celebration of life at 5:00 p.m., held at Bravo Italian Kitchen, 3000 Hayden Road, Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Nationwide Children’s Hospital (www.nationwidechildrens.org/giving).
