Kenneth Michael Tamms, age 69, passed away peacefully at Kobacker House surrounded by his family and close friends on November 26, 2024. He was born to the late Russell and Lorraine Tamms on December 2, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Kenneth spent his formative years in Milwaukee, where his love of the Green Bay Packers originated. After attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Kenneth relocated to New York City to begin what would be an over four-decade career at American Electric Power. Soon after arriving on the east coast, Kenneth met his beloved wife, Marianne, and together with their first child, they laid new roots in Dublin, Ohio. Kenneth was known for being a handyman and was always working on a project or tinkering away at the house. His greatest project, however, was the family he raised with Marianne. He never missed an opportunity to let them know how loved they were and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren compete in sports. Kenneth loved torturing himself at his favorite golf courses, traveling the world with Marianne, and relaxing during family vacations on Hilton Head Island.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in passing by his brothers Mark and Fred Tamms; Mother-in-Law Marianne Ruane; Brother-in-Laws Joseph and John Ruane; close friend Don (Jadine) Mains; and family dogs Nikki and Jake. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marianne Tamms; Their children, Christopher Tamms, Jennifer (Brendan) Prendeville, Conor (Alex Chiappa) Tamms, and Katie (Danny Harr) Tamms; Grandchildren James, William, and Mallory Prendeville; Siblings Natalie (Mark) Reinhardt-Depies, Heidi Tamms, and Michael Tamms; Nephews William (Katie) Reinhardt and Justin (Heather) Ruane; Nieces Lauren (Ryan) Lee and Isabel (Luke) O’Conner; beloved dog Finn; and many friends made along the way.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM followed by a funeral service at St. Bridgid of Kildare Church, 7179 Avery Rd, Dublin, OH 43017.
Please share your condolences, memories, and photos with Kenneth’s family.
