Judith Ann, “Judi” Thomas, age 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Judi was born on June 29, 1947, in Columbus Ohio, and most recently moved to Venice, Florida, where she enjoyed the warm sunshine and beautiful beaches. Judi was loved and honored by so many friends and family. She was a light to all who knew her. Being active with her many friend groups such as the Cardless Club, Snackerdoodles and her Mahjong club brought her great enjoyment. Reading, gardening and definitely sunbathing were among her favorite activities. Judi loved to travel and enjoyed the new experiences, vistas, cultures and people. Her greatest joy by far was being with her cherished grandkids and her family.
Judi’s strong Christian faith was an essential part of her life and sustained her during difficult times. She also participated in the Emmaus Community where she found comfort and support.
As the first child of Adrian and JoAnn Valentine, Judi grew up on the south side of Columbus and attended Columbus South High School. It was there she met her lifelong partner, Jim. She worked for many years for well-known companies around Columbus such as Ross Willaby, Management Horizons, Mary Kay, Nationwide Communications and DuPont.
Judi is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 58 years, Jim Thomas; her sons Jeff (wife Karen) and Justin (wife Jodena) Thomas; and brother Craig Valentine. She will be forever missed by her four grandchildren Savannah Thomas, Julien Thomas, Jackson Thomas and Chloe Thomas. She was a light to her many nieces and nephews who saw her as more than their beloved aunt. Judi is preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and JoAnn Valentine, her brothers Rick and Mark Valentine, and sisters Janice Leonard and Caren Snelling.
Judi will be dearly missed by all those blessed enough to know her. Her warm smile, kind heart and unwavering love will always be remembered. She had the gift of seeing the best in everyone and making sure they knew it. She brought grace and poise to the world around her and to the people who loved her.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Schoedinger Dublin, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, OH 43017. A private reception will follow.
