“This is what the Lord says – your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, the Maker of all things.” (Isaiah 44:24)
“Before I was born the Lord called me; from my mother’s womb He has spoken my name.” (Isaiah 49:1)
Isaiah Youssef Bassily, beloved son of Raef Bahi Youssef Bassily and Ashley Nicole Bassily, passed away in the womb at 19 weeks and was delivered on Friday, November 22, 2024, alongside his identical twin brother, Liam Bahi Bassily, who is healthy and thriving.
Though his time with us was brief, Isaiah’s life has left a profound and everlasting impact on his family, who find peace knowing he is back in Jesus’ arms. Isaiah’s name, meaning “God saves,” carries a profound significance for his family. It reflects the divine promise that he is saved through the blood of Jesus, inheriting eternal life, and a fulfilled promise as his brother Liam survived an arduous pregnancy by God’s grace. The middle name Youssef was chosen in honor of his great-grandfather, Youssef Bassily, a Godly man of unwavering faith and a true follower of Christ.
Isaiah is deeply loved and will always be remembered by his parents, his twin brother Liam, and his grandparents: Bahi Bassily and Mona Saad, and Lynn and Penny Evilsizor. He is also loved and cherished by his aunt Randa Bassily, her husband Sameh Fahmi, and their son Kevin; and by his uncle Tyler Evilsizor, Tyler’s wife Brittany, and their children Maverick and Zella. André, the loving dog of Isaiah’s family, would have surely been his best friend and loyal companion, sharing a bond filled with love and joy.
A funeral service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., where Isaiah will be laid to rest.
Though Isaiah’s time with his family was brief, his presence has left an indelible mark on their hearts. He will forever be cherished as a precious gift from God, and his family find comfort in the hope of being joyfully reunited with him in heaven.
