Harold F. Schmauch passed away peacefully on August 17, 2023, at the age of 83, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 19, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Edna (McGuire) Jones and Henry Schmauch. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Butch. Harold leaves behind a family who loved him dearly, including his wife, Mary; children, Miles Schmauch of Washington Courthouse, Ohio; Michael Schmauch of Waverly, Ohio; Marc Schmauch, wife, kids and grandchildren of Galloway, Ohio; Marci Black of Dublin, Ohio; stepson, Keith Day of Newark, Ohio; grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Morford and Zachary Black; great granddaughter, Olivia; siblings, Earl Schmauch, Bobby Schmauch, Jimmy Schmauch and Carla Polley; many cousins, nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, and friends.
He retired from General Motors, where he spent most of his career. Harold never met a stranger, was kind to everyone he met and was always cracking jokes. He enjoyed fishing, and was former President of the Ohio Huskie Muskie Club. Harold holds a state record for the biggest muskie caught out of Clear Fork Reservoir; 37 lbs, 50.75 inches. He also enjoyed bowling, especially with his sons. He loved playing the lottery, scratch offs and watching OSU football. Most of all Harold enjoyed spending time with his family.

In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in Harold’s memory to Vitas Healthcare, 655 Metro Place South, Dublin, Ohio 43017. A celebration of Harold’s life will take place on Friday, August 25 at the Schoedinger Dublin Chapel, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin. Family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with a service to follow; Chaplain Mark Hensley officiating.
Friends are welcome to join family for dinner after the service at the Village of Coffman Park Clubhouse, 6000 Kenzie Lane, Dublin, Ohio.
