Gretchen Ann Distelhorst

Gretchen Ann Distelhorst, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 10:06 AM at her assisted living facility. Gretchen was born on February 17, 1939 to Edwin and Elsie Distelhorst in Columbus, OH. She and her family then moved to Dublin, OH when Gretchen was 8 years of age and she had lived there ever since. Gretchen attended Dublin High School and afterwards worked many years at Daifuku. Gretchen was an avid animal lover, especially cats. She rescued many cats throughout her life and loved raising them. Gretchen was known as a giver. She generously donated throughout her life to orphanages/homeless shelters (The Covenant House being her favorite) to animal shelters, and animal rescue groups. Gretchen cared for her mother and father all throughout their lives until they died in October 1999 and March 2000, respectively. Only after their deaths did she then take time for herself and she married Richard (Rich) Coulter on April 7, 2000 after being engaged for many years. They were married for 5 short years up until his untimely death in 2005. Since that time, Gretchen had continued to care for her yard (one of her most cherished pastimes) and her beloved cats. She is survived by her cats, Khloe and Greta as well as end of life friends who helped in her time of need including, Gene Bostic, Mary and Wayne Stefanko, Ewa and Pawel Kwiatkowski, Ive and Joshua Thomas. A graveside service will be held, 1 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022 at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad St. Galloway, Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger Dublin.
