Jane Harvey

Born on September 20, 1913, she was the daughter of the late John and Macy (Thomas) Shaffer. On January 30, 1937 she married Milsome John Harvey, who passed away in 1992.

Jane graduated from Brady Township School in 1931 and Suburban General Hospital Nursing School in Bellville, PA in 1935. She worked as a nurse at Maple Avenue Hospital for over 20 years.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Sykesville and the United Methodist Women in Sykesville.

Jane is survived by her son Blaine Harvey and his wife Karen of DuBois, a daughter-in-law Ginny Harvey of Seven Valleys, PA and a grandchild Becki Myers and her husband Tim of Anchorage, Alaska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons: Ray and Dale Harvey; three brothers: Hubert, Everett and Henry Shaffer, a sister Kathleen Gray and two infant brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church in Sykesville, with Rev Dr. Debra Rogosky officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Luthersburg.

Friends will be received on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 7-9pm at the Mohney Yargar Funeral Chapel. An additional hour of viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:00am until the hour of service at the church.
