In loving of memory of Charles Douglas Turgeon, a humble and hardworking man who found joy and solace in the simplicity of life. Charles peacefully passed away on January 20th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, humility, patience, and a deep love for his family. Charles, or Chuck to his family and friends, was born on March 14, 1942, in Los Angeles, CA to Joseph Phillip Turgeon and Edna Rose Sequin and was the youngest of five boys.
Chuck cherished his family above all else. His love for his wife, children, and extended family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a pillar of strength and support, always there to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word. Chuck is survived by the love of his life Sharon and four children, Charles Junior, Marianne (Kevin), Christine, and Jacquelyn (Derrick). He is also a proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
One of Chuck's greatest joys was spending time outdoors, especially indulging in his love for fishing. His passion for fishing was not just a hobby but a source of peace and contentment. Even more than fishing, Chuck enjoyed a long and wonderful marriage of over six decades to Sharon. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren revered him as a kind, warm and wise man—Chuck loved conversation and some of the best times with his family were spent drinking a Coke and sharing one of his many stories. Chuck lit up a room with his happy, big smile. His generosity, loyalty and kindness left others feeling valued every time they interacted with him.
Though Chuck has left this world, his spirit lives on in the memories we shared and the lessons he imparted. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family invites friends and well-wishers to join in a celebration of Chuck's life on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:00am at Miller Mies Downey Mortuary, with a reception at Miller Mies Downey Mortuary from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.
